CompTIA
or The Computing Technology Industry Association is the leading
global IT trade association. They strive to develop industry standards
for IT professionals, provide IT skills education and development.
The major areas defined by CompTIA for IT industry are convergence
technology, e-commerce, IT training, software services, certification,
public policy, and workforce development. They offer many initiatives
and programs dedicated to those areas. The association also strives
to support global public policy (for instance anti-trust or privacy
issues), develop vendor-neutral IT certification exams, and foster
civic outreach (National Cristina Foundation partner) programs.
CompTIA has a membership program which offers access to industry
research, networking and partnering opportunities, best practices
and developed standards.
