career potentials.
Have you ever considered a career as a dental assistant? Dental
Assistants have a variety of administrative and clinical duties.
Some of the administrative responsibilities are appointment scheduling,
answering the phone, completing patient files and insurance forms,
and more. Dental Assistants also take vital signs, expose and develop
dental radiographs (X- Rays), make dental impressions and models,
and function as the dentist's extra pair of hands in an operation.
Most professional
dental assistants work in private offices, either for a single dentist
or a group practice, and have a mixture of administrative and clinical
responsibilities. As part of our in-class training, you will have
the opportunity to treat actual patients in our in-house dental
clinic.
Perhaps you
should also consider a career as a medical assistant. As a professional
Medical Assistant, you can work in private physicians' offices and
may have a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities.
Medical Assistants are often found in clinics or hospitals' admissions,
patient records and insurance departments. Some Medical Assistants
find employment in medical labs or blood banks.
As a graduates of our program, you may perform duties in both the
administrative and clinical areas of a doctor's office, clinic,
or other medical facilities. Some graduates may specialize in either
clinical or administrative duties, but most perform duties in both
areas.
Whichever of
these career paths you choose, San Antonio College of Medical and
