The general education classes are an integral part of Associate and Bachelor degree programs. They provide a broad educational base encompassing mathematics, natural sciences, the social sciences, the humanities, and communication. Their purpose is to enrich and expand students' knowledge and to provide students a basis for participation as well-rounded members in the family, the community, and the workplace.

Is a full-time education too involved for your schedule? If so, LA College International offers contract training. In this case, the college enrolls students for short-term education and training. Contract Training programs are funded under third-party contracts such as Title 31 and other Vocational Rehabilitation programs and State of California Employment Training Panel. The College also offers employer-sponsored customized training programs in a variety of fields.

One final option permits a student to enroll in a vocational training program that offers a specific set of skills that will lead to his or her development of employment competence in business, data processing, or computer technical skills. Vocational training programs are an appropriate alternative for some students to academic degree granting programs of study.
